The genius engineers at Pontiac decided to set the pump in the gasoline tank and the gasoline tank earlier mentioned the rear axle…..I read there is a “entice door” approach that entails chopping a hole by the sail panel guiding the rear seat. The issue is i have a convertible so my top sits on the sail panel. Any ideas?

I in no way messed with a convert., but I lower the flooring on my 3rd gen (1988) to get to the gas tank/pump.
It really is not anything I will recommed to every person. It does take some skill with a chopping, and very good frequent sence to do it and not lower into the fuel tank as the tank is 1/four” to one/two” beneath floor.
This is a handful of pics of mine on my 88 camaro
I utilised a three” minimize off wheel and air powered three” cutoff instrument to do mine

I’m with Chevy, never accomplished it on a Convertible, but have completed it on a coupe with no any issues at all.
