SUBARU DIESEL USA
I found a diesel subaru I want, but it can only be purchased in sweden , could i buy it, then ship it to the us? can it be registered/insured in pennsylvania? it’s a brand new car if that makes a difference.

im sure you could, check with the DMV im guessing, but it’s going to cost a ton of money for shipping

i believe only used cars can be imported
1 EU spec cars do not meet crash ,,,emissiond and other standards of USA
2 check with DMV
3 go to sweeden..drive car for vacation…bring it back..

Subaru doesn’t make a diesel engine car that meets US emission standards, which is why they’re not sold here. If you want to import it to the USA and register it here, you’ll have to modify the car to meet US tailpipe emissions. That may be harder than it sounds and could end up costing you thousands of dollars.
I wouldn’t recommend it. If you want a diesel car, then buy one that’s already legal to drive here.
When will we start seeing small diesel cars like the ones in europe? I think the demand at this time is higher than ever.
